Where gaming chairs are made

Two regions dominate. Anji in Zhejiang, the office-chair capital, makes the bulk of gaming chairs because the gas-lift, mechanism and molding supply chain is already there. Foshan in Guangdong adds strength in PU upholstery and bonded-leather racing styles. The serious factories run their own injection molding for the shells and bases, which is exactly what you want — a factory that owns its molds controls quality and can customize; one that buys generic shells cannot.

A gaming chair is a frame, a lift and a cover

Strip away the racing-car styling and a gaming chair is three things that decide its lifespan:

• Gas lift. Class 3 and Class 4 lifts are rated for higher weight and more cycles. Cheap factories drop in a Class 2 and photograph it identically. Always ask for the SGS or TUV gas-lift certificate and the static load rating.
• Frame and foam. A welded steel frame and molded cold-cure foam survive years; a thin frame and cut sponge collapse in months. Ask for foam density in kg per cubic meter.
• Cover and base. PU is cheapest, with carbon-look and fabric costing more; nylon bases crack under heavy users while aluminum passes higher load tests. For Western markets, specify the base.

Stock models vs your own design

For a first order, almost nobody should pay for new tooling. China gaming-chair factories carry dozens of existing shell molds, and you customize the cover color, stitching, embroidery and logo on top — that gets you a branded-looking chair for a fraction of the cost. A brand-new shell mold runs into the thousands of dollars and only makes sense once you are moving real volume.

MOQ, certifications and lead time

Most factories accept 100 to 300 pieces per model for stock colorways; custom embroidery or your logo usually starts at 300 to 500. For the US and EU, the chair should pass BIFMA X5.1 (widely applied to gaming chairs), EN 1335 for Europe, and CA TB 117-2013 for California flammability, and the gas lift carries its own safety certificate. Stock ships 25 to 35 days after deposit; custom builds add a week or two.
